THE CENTRE FOR GLOBAL CHALLENGES, AIT SHARES INSIGHTS ON THE “POLICY IMPACT ASSESSMENT PLATFORM” AT APEC CTF KNOWLEDGE SHARING SESSION
On 28 March 2023, APEC CTF invited Dr.Suwin Sandhu, Senior Research Specialist from the Centre for Global Challenges at AIT, to share knowledge on the “Policy Impact Assessment Platform” at APEC Center for Technology Foresight, NXPO.
Policy Impact Assessment (PIA) is a process used to evaluate the potential consequences of a proposed policy or policy change. The purpose of PIA is to help policymakers make informed decisions by assessing the potential positive and negative impacts of a policy on various stakeholders, including individuals, communities, businesses, and the environment.
The Centre for Global Challenges (CGC) at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) is a research center that focuses on addressing existing and emerging global challenges facing humanity, such as climate and ecosystem disruption, energy-water-food security, resource scarcity, infrastructure, social justice, institutions and governance, technology-policy discordance, and human-machine fusion. The center aims to develop innovative solutions to these challenges by conducting research, collaborating with stakeholders, and providing education and training programs.
The CGC at AIT brings together experts from various disciplines, including engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, and economics, to work on interdisciplinary research projects that address global challenges. Some of the key areas of research at the CGC include energy transition, digital transformation, resource scarcity, infrastructure development, inequality, and social justice.
