On 29 March 2023, APEC CTF invites Dr. Kuniko Urashima, the foresight expert from the National Institute of Science and Technology Policy, Japan (NISTEP) to share insights on the foresight experiences and methodologies used in the international and Japanese cases.

The APEC Center for Technology Foresight (CTF) has recently submitted a self-funded project proposal to APEC, titled the “Strategic Foresight Report.” The project is scheduled to commence in May 2023 and will involve the valuable contributions of Dr. Urashima, a prominent expert in foresight methodologies. Dr. Urashima will provide guidance and insights based on her extensive experience in the field, making her a key working partner with the APEC CTF.

Dr.Kuniko Urashima is a prominent expert in foresight methodologies, with over 25 years of experience in the field. She has worked with numerous organizations, including governments, corporations, and academic institutions, to help them develop long-term strategies and plans. She has authored numerous publications on foresight methodologies and their applications and is a sought-after speaker at conferences and seminars around the world. Currently, she is a senior fellow at NISTEP, and Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Japan. In additional, she is a visiting professor at Nagoya, Gifu, and Iwate Universities.
