Dr. Surachai Sathitkunarat, Executive Director of APEC CTF and President of NXPO, was invited as a speaker at the international symposium FORESIGHT IN A RAPIDLY CHANGING WORLD, held on April 17, 2025, by the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) from Moscow, Russia. The symposium was conducted online with live translation in both English and Russian.

This symposium set annually focused on exchanging knowledge and ideas related to foresight methodologies in a rapidly changing world. Participants from around the globe gathered to share research findings and experiences on using foresight tools for policy planning.

In the session “Foresight Methodology: What’s New?”, Dr. Surachai shared a case study from Thailand on the AI Foresight Platform for Policy Design, an initiative that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance strategic planning capabilities through foresight tools in the public sector. This project aims to develop an AI-driven foresight system for policy design, with the first phase focusing on healthcare.

Dr. Surachai’s presentation was met with great interest from the audience, marking a significant step in advancing the use of AI for policy design. It demonstrates Thailand’s commitment to developing innovative foresight solutions to address the rapidly changing world we live in.
