(March 26-28, 2025) The APEC Center for Technology Foresight (APEC CTF) was invited by Thailand’s National Security Council (NSC) to conduct the NSC Policy Design II training at the Amari Hotel, Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The training was attended by more than 40 participants from NSC, focusing on systematically developing concepts and skills in utilizing foresight tools to anticipate future security signals.

The training was led by Dr. Kommate Jitvanichphaibool, Deputy Director of APEC CTF, who delivered a lecture titled “Foresight Tools for Security Policy” and facilitated practical workshops applying integrated foresight methodologies, combining Future Radar and Future Triangle. The participants engaged in signal analyses and explored various trends potentially shaping future security environments.

Key objectives of this activity included enhancing participants’ understanding of significant signals influencing the future and developing skills in analyzing and categorizing different signal types. Additionally, it aimed to strengthen strategic thinking and future planning capabilities among NSC personnel, enabling them to effectively provide strategic security recommendations to the government and relevant agencies.
