APEC CTF Joined Panel Discussion at Asia Pacific Urban Energy Assembly 2024
The 3rd Asia Pacific Urban Energy Assembly 2024 occurred at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center on July 4-5, 2024. Organized by the Asia Pacific Urban Energy Association (APUEA), this annual meeting serves as a crucial platform for government and private sectors, policymakers, and financial institutions to discuss future developments in urban energy across the Asia Pacific region.
Dr. Srichatra Chaiyongvilan, a Strategist I, was invited to participate in the Panel Discussion titled “Session 1: Plenary Session – The Asia Energy Outlook” on July 4, 2024, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. Dr. Srichattra presented STI perspectives on energy in the Asia Pacific region, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors to drive greenhouse gas emission reductions according to national, regional, and UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) targets.
Additionally, Dr.Srichattra highlighted the outcomes of the Technology Needs Assessment (TNA) Phase I, conducted by the NXPO- APEC CTF under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. The TNA findings have been incorporated into various national plans, enabling Thailand to consistently secure support for technology transfer projects from the UNFCCC. The ongoing TNA Phase V will gather input from the private sector, a key factor in driving greenhouse gas emission reductions both nationally and regionally in the Asia Pacific.
