9 September 2024 – Dr. Thanan Marukatat, Research Fellow at the Asia Pacific Energy Research Centre (APERC), visited the APEC Center for Technology Foresight (APEC CTF) office to explore potential future collaboration. The meeting was warmly welcomed by Dr. Kommate Jitvanichphaibool, Deputy Director of APEC CTF, who provided an insightful overview of the foresight tools and methodologies that the center has been utilizing in its current and upcoming projects. These tools, including scenario planning, technology roadmapping, and trend analysis, have been instrumental in helping policymakers and stakeholders in the region and Thailand navigate future challenges in energy and related sectors.

During the visit, Dr. Thanan shared insights into APERC’s mandate and highlighted areas of research that could align with APEC CTF’s ongoing work, paving the way for future joint initiatives. The productive discussions concluded with a tour of the APEC CTF – NXPO offices, underscoring the potential for continued collaboration between these APEC specialized units.
