APEC Center for Technology Foresight (APEC CTF) and Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO), in collaboration with the Program Management Unit on Area Based Development (PMU A), Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI), and Khon Kaen University, convened a meeting aimed at exploring the development of the Northeastern Economic Corridor (NeEC) for Thailand. The meeting took place on 4 March 2024 at Avani Khon Kaen Hotel & Convention Centre in Khon Kaen.

Dr. Kommate Jitvanichphaibool, Deputy Director of APEC CTF, delivered an address welcoming over 50 participants to the meeting. This audience represented stakeholders in this initiative which spans four provinces, namely Nakhon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen, Udon Thani and Nong Khai. The discussion focused on employing foresight approaches to set the direction and construct future scenarios for NeEC and the China-Laos-Thailand Economic Corridor, involving applicable economy clusters.
