The Office of National Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO), in collaboration with the APEC Center for Technology Foresight (APEC CTF), has been officially certified by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization), or TGO, for organizing a “Carbon Neutral Event” with net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.

The certification was formally granted, following the successful organization of the “Launch of Thailand’s Technology Needs Assessment Phase V,” held on Thursday, 15 May 2025, at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers in Bangkok.

The event garnered strong participation, with over 250 attendees present onsite and more than 240 participants joining virtually from around the world. Based on the greenhouse gas assessment, the event generated approximately 10 tons of CO₂-equivalent emissions. These emissions were fully offset through the Mitr Phol Biomass Power Project (Dan Chang), a carbon credit project officially registered under TGO’s certification system. The offsetting was conducted through a self-declaration process, employing TGO-approved carbon footprint calculation tools.

This certification reflects NXPO–APEC CTF’s strong commitment to sustainable development and environmental responsibility. NXPO and APEC CTF will continue to lead by example and work collaboratively with domestic and international partners to advance meaningful climate action across all sectors.
